Security Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Security Engineer with Odoo ERP experience to safeguard our applications, systems, and data against security threats and vulnerabilities. This role is critical in ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of our Odoo ERP platform, cloud infrastructure, and supporting systems.
You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, IT, and product teams to embed security best practices across the organization and support a secure, scalable technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls to protect Odoo ERP, web applications, infrastructure, and data
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk analyses across systems and applications
- Monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents and threats
- Secure Odoo ERP configurations, user roles, access controls, and permissions
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM), authentication, and authorization mechanisms
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)
- Manage and configure firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and security monitoring tools
- Define, document, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable security frameworks and regulations (ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST, etc.)
- Provide security guidance, best practices, and awareness training to internal teams
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies
Must Have
- 3+ years of experience as a Security Engineer, Cybersecurity Engineer, or similar role
- Hands-on experience securing Odoo ERP environments, including access control, permissions, and data security
- Strong knowledge of application security, network security, and cloud security
- Experience working with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint security solutions
- Hands-on experience securing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of encryption, authentication protocols, secure configuration, and security best practices
- Familiarity with security standards and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST, etc.)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident response skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Nice to have
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and security automation
- Knowledge of scripting or automation for security tasks (Python, Bash, etc.)
- Experience securing SaaS platforms or ERP systems beyond Odoo
- Exposure to incident response, threat hunting, or security monitoring programs
- Familiarity with Odoo hosting environments (Odoo.sh, on-prem, or cloud deployments)
